Last day of cancelling stamps in Denmark

Denmark is het eerste land dat stopt met postbezorging m.i.v. 1 januari 2026.
Iets met niet meer economisch, brengt geen geld meer op.  Nu kan je het leger ook wel afschaffen, kost bakken en brengt niets op, of valt dat niet onder economie.
Mijn Deense vriend heeft de laatste zendingen behoorlijk opgeruimd uit zijn voorraad, hebben wij met omzetting naar de Euro dat ook gehad, dacht het niet. Nu zou de laatste dag dat ze stempelen 18 december zijn volgens hem. Deze brief heeft nog een dagstempel, wat heet een,  van de 19e.  Wie heeft er een van latere datum is dan de vraag.
Ook benieuw hoe de verzending van post straks gaat, die brieven moeten toch blijven komen toch..

Moderne stempels op Franse zegels

Wat is dit nu voor onderwerp voor dit blog. Nu het valt mij op dat de meeste gebruikte Franse zegels tegenwoordig met een soort traliestempel worden ontwaard.

Van b.v. de kippenzegels die zijn uitgegeven zie je zelden een ander soort stempel. (zie foto's)

Nu vind ik klein rondstempels toch wel wat leuker, naast dat het moeilijk is deze te bemachtigen.

Ben eens op zoek gegaan binnen mijn kippenverzameling en het franse insteekboek wat ik ook heb, niet allemaal dubbelen doch ik houd ze gewoon apart. Kwam toch daar enkele rondstempels tegen, heb deze maar intern geruild met mijn kippenverzameling.

Moet dus nog opzoek naar heel wat andere zegels, c.q. stempels erop.

China

Yesterday a packet from China, some cards to mail to my friend. Het did put Dutch stamps on it and he likes Dutch cancellations.  Now I think that when I put them in de regular mailbox there won't be much cancellations on the cards. I will go next week to the local postdepartment of our supermarket and put a Dodewaard cancel  on the cards. Sure there is a cancellation on.  Show you the stamps on the "cover". Also put some in the regular mailbox and see what happens.

Stempels - Cancellations

Laatst een enveloppe ontvangen met een nog wel heftig en bijzonder stempel. Er zijn mensen die dit soort stempels verafschuwen, zelf vind ik het nog wel wat hebben. Dit soort had ik nog niet gezien, stamt nog uit de tijd dat PostNL  TNT heette, geen nieuwe dingen voor de oude op zijn zal het motto wel zijn dezer dagen. De ene reorganisatie na de andere, het onrechtmatig (?!?) toeeigenen van ruim 50 miljoen Euro door het ongeldig verklaren van de guldenspostzegel, het zal denkelijk niet helpen om het bedrijf winstgevend te maken. Hier het stempel, op een zegel van de Bosatlasuitgifte, een uitgifte waarvan de meningen ook verdeeld zijn qua ontwerp.

 

 

Poor Cover

Did receive back a cover, mailed to a friend in Sri Lanka. He told me that I mailed him a "poor"cover. Sad that he bend the cover to me over two of the stamps. Maybe could save them when soaking. Why is this a poor cover? Bad cancellation, thats for sure, but cancellation is just a lotery here in The Netherlands. I can put handcancels on a cover, sometimes do that, but then the cover gets in a bag to the postcentrum and they -the machine-  puts a cancellation as you see here over the handcancels. Maybe you are still able to see a stamp or a part. What to do ?? just tell me.

Postex-3

Nog even terugkomen op de afgelopen postzegelbeurs. PostNL was aanwezig met een stand. Het was er redelijk druk de zondag dat ik daar was. Bij je aankoop kreeg je een kaart welke je kon adresseren en in een postzak kwijt kon. De frankering zou door PostNL verzorgd worden. Gisteren kwam deze kaart binnen, een postzegel erop n.l. De dag van de postzegezegel 2012. Mooi toch, zo'n kadootje van PostNL.

Jammer dat de mooie stempels die aanwezig waren op de beurs niet gebruikt zijn voor afstempeling doch dat een "gewoon" stempel is gebruikt. Denkelijk is de zak gewoon meegegeven met de reguliere post.

Wel benieuwd hoe de kaarten, die ik voor buitenlandse vrienden speciaal gestempeld had met de twee stempels, aankomen in het buitenland. Zou daar ook een gewone stempelvlag overheen gegaan zijn ??

Zelf laat ik mijn brieven aan postzegelvrienden -meestal- stempelen met dit soort stempels. Wel is het zo dat ze dan in de normale zak verdwijnen bij het "postkantoor" in onze supermarkt. Gevolg kan zijn dat ze nogmaals door een stempelautomaat gaan, de ene verzamelaar vindt dat geweldig, twee stempels op een poststuk, de andere geeft er niet om en een derde vindt het vervelend. Als ik weet hoe of wat pas ik mijn zending daarop aan.

Zal nog een plaatje van een stempel laten zien. Persoonlijke zegel vanwege 50 jaar geleden de eerste ruimtecapsule de lucht in (er boven dus...) Sputnik.

Card from Berlin

Just show an old postcard. 1904 from Berlin to Leeds. You see the Siegerallee with Otto III and Johannes 1. There are a lot of statues there, the card says 34 but if they still all there?  I don't know.

Denmark, stampgame 399, PostNL

Here you see ons of the last covers I have from The Stamp Game. Today it is 10 years ago that my friend Benoît started this game. A great action as we see back now. Times are changing and also also interests and life itself. The game will end now.Thanks to Benoît and all my friends/members for all those nice years we played the game. I will miss that.

When you see the cover you can notice that the machine of PostNL has some problems reading my address and put a printed version on it. Like the new Danish stamps my friend Niels put on this cover. The cancellation is also fine.

Personal stamps from Finland

Here 4 great personalized stamps from Finland. These special issued stamps are for the cellebration of the Finnish railroads this year. They are 150 years young now. You see 4 old postcards from the railwaystation of Kerava. Kerava is a place in the North of Finland and is the first railroads from Helsinki to the north of Finland. The stamps were issued by the residents of Kerava. Good idea to do so, you will have nice stamps and local history too. The 4 cards are between over 100 years till over 50 years old. The station is still the same on all cards, on the last you see two tracks , they move the whole building some meters away to build that track. In the 150 years there were several modernisations done of course.

Thanks to Leo for the nice stamps and the story that goes with them.  On the cover also one stamp, no time for cancellation -again- in Finland....

Cancellations Mouse and Elephant

Some collectors like topics. Here a nice cancellation if you like elephants on stamps or cancels.

Found this card with a nice cancellation of 100 years Zoo in Koln( Germany) in 1960. As you can see there are two the same cancellations, no idea why there are 2. When you look carfully you see the young elephant running away for a little mouse. (also a nice topic). If this card came to the right address is not sure.  It is said 'wrong delivery', so its not certain that the card from Tante Cor, Oom Otto, Tante Miep and Richard was read by the Nieuwenhuizen family.

Living in the past, our PostNL

Below you see a card I ordered this year by PostNL/Kaartwereld.nl. It is a blowup of my personalized decemberstamp 2012, which I made just for friends and fun. It was a free card because I was a customer last year. (also from a lot of free cards) Sad that -even they use a PostNL stamp-  the cancellation on these cards you order is still from TNTPOST and also the year 2011 is all over for most people. Our PostNL or/and Hallmark still live in the past.

Nice such a new layout. Have to found how to put new information on my blog. Not able from the blog, have to go to my startpage with blogs. Here I am.

What to write about today?  Did get a nice cover from Poland (by Antony, thanks again) 11-11-11, show it below.

Think it is a nice -special- cancellation. The cancellation says (I guess) that its a historical date, special thats right  but historical?

Very nice stamp with "Europa" theme. We in The Netherlands don't have these every year anymore, but a lot of stamps are issued here, maybe to many.

Rocket Mail

Nice cover with early "rocket"  mail. This one has a cancellation of May 17th  1946, when I was 5 days old. Hard to find a cancellation of may 12th 1946 because  that was a Sunday. Did this cover reaced  outher space, no, maybe a few hunderd meters with a small rocket in the air, but you have to start somewhere don't you think?

Goeie oude tijden

Als je al zo lang verzamelt dan heb je een boel , laten we zeggen, spullen. Kwam nog wat enveloppen tegen van mijn vorige postzegelclub OHVZ uit de jaren 60..... Toen werd er wel wat meer werk gemaakt van de post die aan de leden werd toegezonden. Ik laat zien een enveloppe met een speciaal stempel, die werden er steeds weer opgezet, van 27 mei 1968. Het betreft de opening van een nieuw geelektrificeerd baanvak Venlo-Keulen(Dld) Het stempel heeft het ook over Zomerdienstregeling 1968. Misschien een leuk item voor mensen die treinen als motief hebben bij het verzamelen van postzegels.

Cover from Finland

Show you the cover where the personalized stamps of my last posting  were in. Very nice stamps  on this cover and also a great cancellation of the postmuseum, see scan detail. Maybe the stamp with the car was tried to pull of because the corner is damaged. This stamp was issued when Kimi Räikkönen became World Champion F1 races in 2007. The other stamp with the owl is a very nice one. Think they are more creative with stamps in Finland then here in The Netherlands....

De kip en het Ei en horror erbij.



Geweldige kaart ontvangen van onze kleindochter Isa. Een echte Frank Treep  tekening met aan de binnenzijde tekeningen( speeltuin en tijger)  van onze kleindochter (3,5 jaar) Ook daarbij een bloemetje voor de kip. De enveloppe is gesierd met een persoonlijke postzegel van Isa tussen onze kippen. Vanwege de kippigheid van de TNT mensen is deze zegel ontsierd met een ballpointkras. Overbodig want de zegel is gewoon gestempeld... Misschien dat het een optie is dat de TNT medewerkers persoonlijke postzegels die niet gestempeld zijn alsnog van een stempel voorzien, dat zou nog eens klantvriendelijk zijn. Je moet de kip met de gouden -persoonlijke postzegel- eieren niet slachten.

Op Hoop van Zegels

Deze Haarlemse vereniging bestaat dit jaar 100 jaar. Dat is een hele tijd. Ik ben hier ruim 40 jaar lid van geweest, doch na onze verhuizing naar Dodewaard was het een beetje te ver van mijn bed en postzegels.

Vandaag wat opruimwerkzaamheden gedaan en dan kom je nog wel eens wat leuks tegen, ik tenminste altijd.

Het plaatje laat een enveloppe zien uit 1969 van OHvZ. Hierin werden de uitnodigingen voor de bijeenkomsten gezonden. Er werd nogal wat werk van gemaakt, op deze staat een speciaal stempel van HAGAPOST van 8 tot 11 mei 1969 gehouden in Den Haag. Moeten ze toch op de post gedaan zijn..Zo zie je ze niet meer vandaag de dag.

Bij mijn huidige club hebben we op de jaarvergadering gestemd of de convocaties per mail verzonden mochten worden. De meeste leden waren wel voor, alhoewel, je mist toch een 8 tal leuke zegels.

Het feit dat er nog leden zijn die geen internet hebben gaf de doorslag om alles bij "het oude" te laten....

OHVZ geeft ook persoonlijke zegels uit, daar zal ik uiteraard achteraan gaan.
