60 cents years and more

In 1981 there was an issue to promote our export.
The 60 cents stamp shows an airport, could be an image of Schiphol/Amsterdam.
Also a tomato and a piece of salad. Still exportproducts of the Netherlands. The picture you see is a maximumcard. Same image as the stamp as a card and on front of the card the stamp. Usually with canceling on the first day of issue.
If you eat healty you may grow old. 60 is a lot of years., not old for them who are this age... A lot of people in The Netherlands will reach that age this year.(!!) The Baby-boom after WWII is good for a lot of parties this year.

Forefather ???

Always wonder how chickens would have liked in the past.
Do we see a forefather from our today-chickens here?
The fourth could be one but why not 6 or 8?
Maybe there is a wise girl or guy who can tell us more.
I am still looking for nice chickens.

Easter and little chickens

To have little chickens with Easter you (!) have to start 3 weeks before with putting egg's under a
klokhen (English?) The cock had to do his work before that and you have to save the brood eggs. Turn them every day, that is the best way to keep them "fresh".
I put yesterday 11 little eggs under a mum to come.
Hope we have some new chicks at Easter.
Flue or not the flue, that is still the question in our small country. Around us (Germany, France) they already have it.
I think it is from all times, flue. Now we check every dead little bird. It is so that when your looking good you alway's can find something.

Hope to a good brood to come.

Nice such a stamp that don't exist. An overprint which did not make it to the Post Offices.
The Dutch soccer people could not win from Germany that year and all the stamps were destroyed. Maybe this is a picture of one which is in the Postmuseum.
They have a lot of things in their collection you or I would like to have. Maybe this year we can have such an issue. World Soccor in Germany 2006. A lot of stamps will come to us. Keep your wallet in position. Get a second job or rob a bank. They will find you, thematic soccerstamp collector......................

To soak or not to soak, thats the question.

This week I did a soak session for the Dutch stamps.
Still have a lot of "others"to do. Just one of my suppliers (neighbours) collect a lot of them. I show a small part of the work to do.
With the Dutch stamps there was one yellow -not so nice- envelop. The paint went into the water and 1n some stamps. They have a nice colour, but difficult to bring them back to a collectable version. Do you have a solution for this damage ? I always keep the red and blue envelop-parts away from the others to soak, mostly these papers give problems.f you have a solution you will get some nice stamps from The Netherlands. Maybe your topic -if I can get that.

Chickens, partners of mankind.

On the third day of Christus there were chicken. Darwin does not believe in fairy-tales, at least not this one. I have to agree with him. Anyhow the chickens became good friends with mankind, or is it the other way around?? For her eggs and her and his meat and company. We carried them around the globe. Easy on the small ships we had in the 16th century. We started to breed and breed and breed. Millions of chickens we have now. Also a lot of vetenarians to keep them healthy. Still there are a lot of diseases we have to fight. Chickens against hungry, food gives freedom. All these things you can find on stamps. If you look carefully to stamps you always get to the 10.000 $ question in the quizzes.

Today I am not at home and not able to put a picture here. Maybe look for one on the www and put it later here.
Have had a lot of visitors today, but there was no new content....
Read in the paper there is a Belgian fellow who has maybe the chickenflue virus H5N1. He visit high risk area,s such as markets, and the countryside in China. Very near by, Belgium, also in Germany. WE ARE SURROUNDED....
Hope everything goes well, we have a lot of chickenfarms with millions of chickens, a lot very near by our place. In 2003 all my chickens were killed by the government....

Postical articles

Bought some nice items with my Stampclub. An Ailmail letter with special cancellation "Experimental Helicopter Service" It is from a very good year : 1946.... Almost 60 years young this cover. What to do with it ?? The Kingdom Of Bayern does not exist any more. First issue of stamps in 1849, after december 1918 it became a republic, not for long, from November 1919 "Freistaat" till 31-3-1920. After that "Deutschen Reiches."

There was also a fellow who wanted to have a great "Reich". It must cellebrate 1000 year of exsistence. He did not make it. But the Philatelic can tell us a lot of things from that period.

This was a letter "Feldpost" with nice cancellation ( when we look at it now..)

Letter was send to the Provencial Watercompany (P.W.N.) in Noord-Holland, Bloemendaal.

So you see, very various from a little action..
