Even niet opgelet ??

Opruimen of zo.

Australian Poultry Breeds

Last week I did receive my first Christmas card from Irene, Australia. Maybe a bit early but it has his reasons. Inside a nice gift I want to show you here. It is about the chickens they have in Australia.
On the right you see Australorps, common in Europe too. the other two are called Australian Game and Australian Pit Game. Typical family of the old English Fighting chickens. My thanks for this nice blog and some single stamps.

Dogs

Very nice these Australian stamps with "adopted" dogs. These stamps were a belated birthdaypresent but still welcome. We don't have a dog, only chickens, some birds and fish in the pool. Almost all the nabers do have them and thats enough..... I don't have any idea what type these dogs are.
The stamp season is coming out, however I don't have that as a season, its alway's time for stamps for me.

Christmas Island

The Territory of Christmas Island is a small, non-self-governing territory of Australia located in the Indian Ocean, 2600 kilometres (1600 mi) northwest of Perth in Western Australia and 500 kilometres (300 mi) south of Jakarta, Indonesia.
It maintains about 1,600 residents who live in a number of "settlement areas" on the northern tip of the island: Flying Fish Cove (also known as Kampong), Settlement, Silver City , Poon Saan and Drumsite.
It has a unique natural topography and is of immense interest to scientists and naturalists due to the number of species of endemic flora and fauna which have evolved in isolation[1] and undisturbed by human habitation.
While there has been mining activity on the island for many years, 65% of its 135 square kilometres (52 sq mi) are now National Park and there are large areas of pristine and ancient rainforest.

Year of the Rooster 2005

Did get some nice presents for my birthday in may. One of them I like to show you. A great sheet (or big MS) from Australia /or and Christmas Island. In fact 3 stamps with chickens on them, of course a male chicken called rooster. The 50 cents and $ 1,45 I also have in the used version. The 25 cent I am looking for now. Maybe only issued in this sheet and hard to find. Do you know that, let us know.

Soccer

Great stamp, realy great, don't fit on a normal envelop. (diam. 17cm). Just an item for collectors and not to use on your regular mail. Like it, dont know if soccer is the biggest sport in Australia. Who knows?
